Questions About Auto Insurance, Payments, & Warranties for Our Collision Repair Centers

Q: Do I have to pay a deductible?

A: Your insurance policy determines the amount of the deductible for which you are responsible. If you carry broad vehicle collision repair coverage and you were not at fault, your insurance company will likely waive your deductible.

Insurance companies determine fault using your account of the accident when you make your claim and by reviewing the accident report filed with the police department. If you aren’t sure about your deductible, you can call your insurance company for more information. They can tell you whether your deductible has been waived or if you are responsible for paying your deductible when you pick up your vehicle.

Please note that if liability has not been determined and your deductible is pending further investigation, you will still be responsible to pay your deductible at the time you pick up your vehicle from our collision repair centers.

Q: To whom do I pay my deductible?

A: If your deductible is not waived, paying The Body Shop of Barrington is your responsibility when you pick up your vehicle.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: We accept Visa™, MasterCard™, Discover™, cash, and personal checks. Customers with a lien-holder on their insurance check may endorse the back of the check. Our collision repair shop near Lake Zurich, Illinois will take care of the rest with the lien-holder.

Q: Who is responsible for the quality of repairs?

A: The Body Shop of Barrington takes full responsibility for the quality of your vehicle collision repair by offering lifetime warranties on all of our work.

Q: Who is responsible for the Repair Bill?

A: The vehicle owner is responsible for the cost of repairs. However, insurance companies have legal obligations to pay for the repairs in lieu of the drivers they insure. Generally, the driver will pay their deductible and the insurance company will pay the rest to the driver unless directed to pay the collision repair centers directly. To do this, you’ll need to sign a direction to pay form, which authorizes your insurance to pay us directly.

Q: Does my insurance company guarantee the repair?

A: In most cases, if the collision center is part of an insurance company’s special program, then the insurance company will guarantee your repairs. At The Body Shop of Barrington, we guarantee your repairs under any circumstances as long as you own your vehicle. You can read more about this in our warranty.

Q: What kind of warranty should I ask for?

A: We recommend lifetime warranties for all drivers.
